How does my Housekeeper access my home?
It’s totally up to you. You can either be at home or you can organise for your Housekeeper to clean your home whilst you’re out. If you’re going to be out, you can give your Housekeeper spare keys, direct them to the concierge or send them to a key safe.
You can update your property access at any time through the access page from within your online account. This also allows you to organise for your Housekeeper to pick up your spare keys on a specific cleaning visit.
How does key pick up & tracking work?
If you’d like your Housekeeper to look after your spare keys, you can organise for them to pick up your spare keys during a cleaning visit. You can do this at any point in your online account. Our systems will then let your Housekeeper know to pick up the spare keys via their phone app. This service is only available for regular customers.
Once your Housekeeper picks up your keys, we send them a unique code to tag to your spare keys and ensure any other identification about you or your property is removed. We then keep track in our systems that your Housekeeper is holding your spare keys for you
What extra services will my Housekeeper provide?
As well as a regular home cleaning service, your Housekeeper will also be able to provide the following services:
- Ironing
- Laundry
- Oven Cleaning
- Indoor Window Cleaning
- Fridge Cleaning
You can either add these services on to all visits, for example you might want ironing every visit, or you can add them on as a one off to any individual visit, for example, you might just want an oven clean every now and then. These services are charged at the same rate as cleaning, and can be added in 30 min increments. Get a quote here.
Can I have a bespoke clean?
Of course! Lots of our customers have unusual requests, like cleaning of communal areas or small office spaces as well. Once you set up your online account, you’ll have access to write bespoke instructions which will pull through to your Housekeeper’s phone App ready for each clean.

Can I book in ad-hoc?
Sure! After your initial clean, all you need to do is log in to your members account and select ‘Book New Visits.’ You can then see your recent Housekeeper(s) and their real-time availability live and book in at a date and time to suit you.
What about cleaning supplies?
As our Housekeepers travel on foot or by public transport they are unable to provide any cleaning equipment. As such, we require all customers to provide a vacuum, mop & bucket.
Your Housekeeper can provide cleaning cloths and sprays for an extra charge, but you’re also welcome to provide your own if you prefer.
If you would like to provide your own cleaning products, please ensure you have the following:
- Lime scale remover
- Kitchen cleaner
- Bathroom cleaner
- Floor cleaner
- Glass cleaner
- Rubber gloves
- Clean sponges and cloths (washed in between visits)
- Microfibre cloths (washed in between visits)
Do you provide vacuums and / or mops?
Unfortunately, not. Housekeepers usually travel by public transport, so they don’t carry any heavy equipment (imagine carrying a vacuum during tube rush hour!). You can request standard cleaning cloths and sprays as part of your clean though.
How do I book a deep, end of tenancy, or after-build clean?
As well as being specialists in regular weekly and fortnightly cleans, Housekeep offers four types of one-off cleaning; standard cleaning, deep cleaning, end of tenancy cleaning, and after-builders cleaning. If you’re moving out or moving in, you should book our end of tenancy cleaning service. It’s designed for homes that are completely empty, so the cleaning team can clean even more hard-to-reach areas – including the inside of cupboards & appliances.
How do I pay?
We take a card payment when you book. We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express payment cards.
How can I arrange access if I’m not at home?
We can collect keys from a key safe, a neighbour or your estate agent (within a ten minute walk of the property). Just let us know where the keys will be in the ‘Any other details?’ section of the booking form.
How long does a deep clean take?
It usually takes your cleaning team 3-5 hours to complete a deep clean.
What equipment do cleaning teams bring?
The cleaning team will bring everything they need for your deep clean, including all products and a vacuum cleaner.

Why do I need an end of tenancy clean before I move out?
Most tenancy agreements require you to organise an end of tenancy clean prior to checking out of the property.
If you do not organise a clean, and the property fails to meet the landlord’s requirements for cleanliness, you may have a fee deducted from your security deposit to cover the cost of cleaning.
What’s the difference between regular cleaning and end of tenancy cleaning?
End of tenancy cleaning is more thorough than a standard home clean, and takes longer to complete. It’s designed to thoroughly clean a property before new tenants move in.
Cleaning of kitchen appliances and white goods is included as standard in an end of tenancy clean. All cupboards will be cleaned – inside and out – as well as inside windows.
All standard cleaning tasks – like mopping, vacuuming and surface cleaning – are also completed during an end of tenancy clean.

Which items can be left in the property during an end of tenancy clean?
Ideally the property should be fully cleared. The only items that should be left in the property are those staying in the property after your tenancy ends. If you require the inside of cupboards to be cleaned, these will need to be emptied in advance of the clean.

What equipment do I need to provide?
Your office must have a mop, bucket and vacuum cleaner.
If you want your cleaner to use specific sprays and cloths, you need to provide these too. Alternatively your cleaner can provide their own cloths and sprays for a small fee.
How do I book evening or weekend cleans?
When you fill out our online quote form, we’ll ask you the best time for your cleans to take place.
We have plenty of cleaners available during out-of-office hours – just let us know when suits you best, and we’ll get you booked in.
How many cleaners will you send?
Once we have all the details about your office, we’ll work out how many hours the clean will take and then decide how many cleaners to send.
For small offices, you may only need one cleaner, while larger office spaces may require a team of cleaners.
However many cleaners we send, we’ll make sure that the same highly-rated cleaners are sent to each of your cleans.
How do I book a one-off deep clean for my office?
Once you’ve signed up with Housekeep, you can book deep office cleaning through your online account.
In addition to deep cleaning, you can also request other specialist cleaning services for your office, including:
- Carpet & upholstery cleaning
- Antiviral sanitisation
- Internal & external window cleaning

How do I ask my cleaner to wear a uniform or ID?
All cleaners carry Housekeep ID in their mobile app. If you need cleaners to carry your ID while in your office, please tell us when you book.
If you need cleaners to wear a uniform when cleaning, please tell us when you book so we can arrange this.
How do I give my cleaner spare keys?
You can give your cleaner spare keys so they can clean while your office is empty.
Just hand the keys to your cleaner and add the locking instructions to your online account.
We’ll remove any identifying information from your keys and add a unique tracking code to them. This ensures that only your cleaners can identify the building that is accessed with your keys.
Alternatively you can let your cleaner in, or provide access via reception or a key safe. This is all managed in your online account.
How does holiday and sickness cover work?
In the event that your cleaner books some time off, you can instantly arrange a cover cleaner through your online account. Alternatively, you can contact our office cleaning support team who will be able to give you a hand getting this organised.
We also have a team of cover cleaners on standby, who are ready to help with same-day cover in the event of sickness or emergency.

Do you have tradespeople available at short notice?
We have tradespeople available at short notice or for advance booking. Once you’ve confirmed you’d like to go ahead, we’ll book you in at a time that works for you.
How can I trust the quote I'm given?
We’ll provide a detailed quote before we confirm your booking. We’ll include any parts, labour, VAT, parking charges, travel fees or other costs. If it’s required, you can also request that we quote for waste disposal at the same time.
If any unforeseen or follow-up work is required, we’ll contact you immediately to make sure you’re happy to go ahead. You’re in full control.
